WHOIS Lookup

Enter a domain to instantly look up its WHOIS record — registrar, registration and expiry dates, nameservers, and domain status.

What does a WHOIS lookup show?

A WHOIS lookup queries the registry responsible for a domain and returns its public registration record: the registrar that manages it, the dates it was registered and expires, the nameservers it points to, the EPP status codes that govern transfers and deletion, and whether DNSSEC is enabled. We read this data live from the authoritative source.

WHOIS vs RDAP

Classic WHOIS returns free-form text over port 43, while RDAP returns structured JSON over HTTPS and is the modern replacement most registries now support. We query RDAP first for accuracy and fall back to WHOIS for the handful of TLDs that have not migrated yet — so you always get the best available data.
